Julien Regnard – Jump

This is just superb a piece of animation. It is a grad project from Julien Regnard, from Brussels Belgium. Although he does state he works in Ireland now, and he likes beer. Sounds like a FANTASTIC guy to us.
The style ties everything together so well, the painterly effect does something that 3D just cant do. Not that either is better but sometimes you can just feel the effort that was put into each frame of animation with the more traditional style. I am interested to know how he put this together, is definitely digital media of some form, more than likely all the mattes and cells painted in Photoshop then composited in something like AfterEffects. Unfortunately he didn’t post up much information on Vimeo. Well sit back and enjoy this animated goodness.
